Beyond The Box Ltd were invited to design an induction programme for the 'Peak Sales Staff' employed to cover the busy Christmas period. The course was to form part of a pilot to identify the benefits and returns generated by induction training. The success of the programme is indicated below and as a result Beyond The Box was asked to return and design an induction course for all staff.

Results
1) Financials:

  • Sales Per Hour + 4%
  • Average Transactional Value + 19%
  • Average Selling Price + 10%


2) Staff were more likely to stay

  • Turnover for staff not inducted - 27.6%
  • Turnover for staff inducted - 18.4%


3) Conclusions

  • The Peak Induction course was pitched at the right level and provided the staff with a good introduction to the Company.

  • Staff who attended the induction course demonstrated that they were happier and prouder to work for the Company.

  • Staff who attended the induction course were less likely to leave in the early days of their employment.

  • Staff who attended the induction course were more effective at solution selling which led to increased profitability.
